At first I wasn't sure what my blog would be about, I have always loved fashion and I have always admired muslim women who wore modest clothes and hijab.
I am a muslimah who started off wearing the hijab, then slowly it slid down to around my shoulders only and then completely not part of my wardrobe any longer.
At first I felt that it wasn't that bad not wearing a hijab, but this Ramadaan (09) I have been inspired to start wearing it again. And inshallah I want to make it a part of me.
I have also been going to ladies islamic classes and gatherings and that has also made me want to strive to be a better muslimah.
I have also been inspired by some lectures I have heard by Mufti Ismail Moosa Menk on the hijab, one particular thing that he mentioned was that on the day of Judgement the hair will bear witness and say that they have been crying out everyday that they were not covered!
Someone also told me that for every strand of hair that is uncovered that is how many times your name would be written down in Jahannum for!
When I heard both of those things, it struck me, no one has ever told me that before. I guess I needed some shock tactic to get me in the right direction.
So I guess this blog will be about my adventures or misadventures with the hijab.
XOXO
